WORK HISTORY
Learning Support Assistant (Lsa) @Cobham Free School Trust
Cobham, GB
In my role as a Learning Support Assistant, I provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with visual impairments. I regularly modify classroom materials to make learning accessible, such as enlarging resources and adapting worksheets and visual layouts. I use scaffolding techniques to break down tasks, model strategies, and provide step-by-step support to help students build independence and confidence in lessons. I also contribute to behaviour support and ensure classroom activities are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with safeguarding and school policies.

ABOUT RUBY MAY
I’m a final-year Psychology student at the University of Surrey, currently working as an LSA and looking to transition into teacher training. Coming off a 1st Class placement year, I’m now focusing my dissertation on spatial reasoning in SEND vs. non-SEND pupils. Alongside my studies, my time at Camp Beaumont and Russell & Bromley has taught me how to adapt quickly and work effectively in fast-paced, people-focused teams
