She is a dedicated advocate for patients and committed to building winning, diverse teams. She has held multiple leader roles at major companies, including GSK, Merck, Sanofi-Aventis, and Johnson and Johnson and President of the American Society of Hispanic Association and the American Psychiatric Association Hispanic Caucus. As a physician researcher, she has applied deep functional experience across R&D, medical safety, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs and RWE to advance registration, launch, access and high patient impact for several transformational medicines in Neuroscience. In 2023 Dr. Castilla-Puentes received the Servant Leadership Award from the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), and in 2024 the Social Justice Award from the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Castilla-Puentes centered her career on improving access and delivery of psychiatric care to bilingual and bicultural communities, developing and implementing intercultural community programs, and, most recently, supporting University of Cincinnati’s Community Leadership Institute projects. She is passionate about teaching, coaching, networking, and influencing others to achieve excellence and impact in their fields. She also held an EMBA in International Business.
