ABOUT RUBEN RUEDA.

I help energy and oil and gas companies implement project management practices, improving senior management\'s visibility and control of portfolio and project performance, obtaining better project outcomes, and increasing profitability.My professional journey started as a Construction Engineer in remote locations in Colombia. Thanks to my analytical, communication, and scheduling software skills, I found a place in the project management office of oil and gas EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) projects. In 2008, I joined Saipem as a Cost Controller for two of Aramco\'s most significant oil and gas developments in Saudi Arabia (Khurais and Manifa).After three years in the Middle East, I returned to Colombia during the oil and gas industry boom between 2010 and 2016. I was the Project Control Lead for pipelines, oil pumping, and natural gas compression stations EPC projects. During the world oil price crisis in 2016, I joined Saipem for a second time. I started as a Planning Engineer and grew up to become Project Control Manager (team sizes up to 10 engineers), performing leading roles in Scheduling, Cost, Change Control, and Risk functions of multibillion-dollar projects (up to 4.3 BUSD).In 2024, I moved to Canada to pursue a Diploma in Project Management at the University of Winnipeg. In 2025, I joined Manitoba Hydro (one of the top 20 employers in Canada according to as Project Officer in the Project Services Department.
