ABOUT TYLER WILLIAMS
Tyler is a passionate Innovator, Builder, Advisor and Investor with a career spanning 20 years at the intersection of technology entrepreneurship, corporate innovation and venture capital across the cyber security field. In 2007, Tyler co-founded an industrial cyber security startup called Wurldtech that pioneered OT system robustness testing and security certification for both OEMs and Operators of critical infrastructure in oil & gas, power, transportation and manufacturing sectors. Wurldtech won multiple awards for technology innovation and was acquired by GE in 2015. Following the acquisition, Tyler joined Shell as group head of OT cyber security, where he led cyber security globally for Shells\' 150+ Upstream and Downstream operated assets. In this role, he built and managed a global team from an initial 5 engineers to over 175 cyber security professionals with an annual opex budget of >$150mln. Over the past few years, Tyler held multiple leadership roles at Shell around the world. He led the America’s corporate development team in Shell\'s Global Commercial business out of Houston, responsible for delivering a portfolio of joint ventures, enterprise alliances, startup investments and acquisitions across North and South America. He was also Venture Principle at Shell Ventures, leading Series A/B investments in technology startups with disruptive technology across the energy value chain. In 2022, Tyler returned to Canada, and his roots in cyber security with a contracting assignment as Director of Cyber Security across the ATCO Group of companies ( Utilities, Natural Gas, Renewables & Structures ) until 2023, when he joined EY as a partner in the cyber security consulting practice.
