Experience
Principal Applied Science Manager
Feb 2017 — Present · Bellevue, WA, US
My team has worked extensively on the New Bing, which leverages GPT-4 and other LLMs in Search & Conversation. We developed cutting-edge solutions for Prometheus grounding (RAG), near real-time LLM engineering and prompting for defect rate improvements, capacity planning and optimization, and Chat answer triggering and integration on the Bing SERP.While we successfully delivered key components of the New Bing, my team\'s main focus is on applying machine learning to optimize Bing’s revenue, relevance, and competitiveness across the whole page. We run and ship dozens of A/B experiments with end-user features every month. We are active contributors to the Machine Learning and Data Science community at Microsoft, with regular talks and publications at MLADS (Microsoft ML and DS Conference) and MSJAR (Microsoft Journal of Applied Research).
