About Robert E. Starghill

Working for Procter & Gamble has afforded me the opportunity to work for several different businesses within one company. I began with P&G as a process development start-up leader for Cascade gel plant. I developed mastery of both liquid and granular processing save $20MM in 4 years by recommending formula optimizations and process innovations. I then moved to a Technical Products Research role for Cascade and Mr. Clean Franchises. Here I worked intimately with Marketing to transform new consumer insights into new winning products. Two examples are Cascade Shine Shield and Mr. Clean Eraser + Cleaner. I received a product design patent for the latter. I was then promoted to R&D Section Leader in P&G Chemicals with responsibility for managing the Glycerin, Food Ingredients and Natural Alcohols business. Here, I have gained invaluable learnings for the oleochemicals and food development markets. On highlight in this role has been leading the glycerin business to its best performance in its 150 yr history, making $65MM in incremental profit. My goal is to direct the R&D program for a consumer/ customer focused business. I desire to leverage my technical expertise to help such a business discover, develop, patent, and commercialize disruptively innovative products.Specialties: Connecting \"what needed\" by consumer/ customer with \"what\'s possible\" technically, designing processes to make new products, Cost Innovation - driving out unnecessary product/ process cost to maximize ROI,Troubleshooting and debottlenecking existing plants and processes, Forming and leading teams to realize business objectives, Changing the game - creating new and innovative business models and products, Coaching and developing direct reports to new levels of perfomance.
