About Rajan
I am a Social Scientist cum Demographer, currently pursuing PhD degree from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. My PhD dissertation closely examined the topic of \"Educational and occupational mobility, health status and quality of life among rehabilitated female manual scavengers of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. This thesis is based on primary data with a mixed-method approach. The practice of manual scavenging is prohibited in India, and this topic is less discussed in academia. I have added the social mobility dimension and impact assessment of rehabilitation schemes for manual scavengers in the contemporary debate on manual scavenging and the way forward for further research in the same area. I have over five years of research experience in the field of demography and public health, with a special focus on marginalised society. I have good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical approaches and proficiency in large-scale data handling. I am motivated toward both quantitative and qualitative research. As my PhD is on primary data so I have hand on experience in conducting primary research.
