ABOUT ROBERT PRIMAVESI

Dr. Robert Primavesi is an Emergency Physician at the McGill University Health Centre where he served as Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Montreal General Hospital. Rob has been an avid contributor to faculty development, continuing professional development and undergraduate medical education for over three decades. He was named to the Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence for his outstanding service in medical education and for contributions that have had a broad and substantial impact. Rob was Chair of Continuing Medical Education for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians where he led the development of a new Toxicology Roadshow, the renewal of the Emergency Department Targeted Ultrasound course and the inception of the Emergency Medicine Review course. Rob was Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education, where he successfully implemented an innovative new medical school curriculum - the first major curricular reform at McGill in 19 years. Rob was presented with the Osler Award for Outstanding Teaching by the graduating medical class as the professor who made the most outstanding contribution to their medical education. Rob is the recipient of the Jim Ruderman Academic Family Medicine Leadership Award recognizing an outstanding Canadian family physician academic who embodies the qualities of wisdom, equanimity, compassion, and the capacity to attract and mentor talented individuals and forge them into a dynamic and productive team. In his spare time, Rob is an avid traveller, adventurer and whitewater rafting guide.
