About Rohan Mutalik
I am a driven, curious, imaginative, and resilient learner who loves anything and everything STEM-related. I love learning how things work, and meeting others who enjoy tinkering. I also love helping people learn, and connecting people together. This past year, I have focused on coming up with solutions to problems that are important to me. Currently, in Q4 of 2024, I\'m learning PCB design to create a smart first aid kit. In Q3, I learned embedded systems and interfaced an ESP32 microcontroller with an LCD screen to try to create a wearable wrist computer. In Q2, I researched, designed, and tried to prototype a wearable mechanical design for personal safety applications. And in Q1, I designed and ran a research experiment using BeamNG.drive to simulate 2-vehicle accidents at various speeds and crash angles. I have professional experience in computer vision, machine learning, and data analysis, but at this point in my career, I\'m going directly after what I want, which is embedded systems. I am proficient in Python and am re-learning C, and can pick up new technologies easily.Other tech areas I have tinkered in include: web development, virtual reality development, Android app development, product teardowns, and robotics. Recently, some random things I have done include: reading research papers in fields unrelated to my interests, like computer architecture or mathematics, just to see how much I can comprehend; watching videos on live brain surgery, just to see what that entails; and taking apart a surge protector, just to see what\'s inside.
