Manage a private police department by developing policy; setting priorities; evaluating the department and personnel effectiveness. Supervising the preparation of periodic reports of crime and accident activity and police department activities in relationship to this information; analyze data for trends. Resolve sensitive or unusual crime situations; coordinate with other law enforcement agencies in crime prevention, detection, and investigations. Promote the department\'s efforts and goals to clients and the general public through individual contact and addresses to civic groups, school groups, and other organizations. Develop emergency response plans and oversee implementation during emergency situations. Recruit, select and oversee the training and assignment of sworn and civilian personnel for the department; advise, direct, and consult with subordinate officers on matters of training, work assignments and scheduling, work performance, promotions, and discipline. Meet with supervisory staff on a regular basis to clarify objectives, build a sense of team within the department, insure information is disseminated, and obtain input on decisions and issues. Prepare annual budget.
