ABOUT ROY OMAHONY
I am the Co-Founder and CTO of Aptisens Ltd UK and CleanGrow Nutrients California. At Aptisens we develop and commercialize innovative ion selective electrodes using carbon nanotube technology and aptamer based biosensors. At Aptisens we invented the world\'s first phosphate electrode and NPK multi-ion probe, which enable accurate and reliable measurement of nutrients in various solutions including hydroponics. CleanGrow Inc formulates, bottles and toll blends premium hydroponic fertilizer concentrates and related products. My mission is to create high-tech products that solve real-world problems and improve the quality of life. As a molecular biologist, chemist, and plant scientist, I have a passion for applying cutting-edge science and technology to the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, and environmental monitoring. I lead a small but talented R&D team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, including procurement, negotiation, production, and technical services. I also maintain strong relationships with key distributors and clients across the globe, and collaborate with them on R&D projects, product requirements, and market feedback. In 2017, I received first prize in the Emerging Technologies Competition from the Royal Society of Chemistry, of which I am a member.
