ABOUT ROY GONGORA

Hello everyone! I’m just sharing a little about myself to change my profile around a bit. It’s been a while since I’ve updated it. I have nearly 30 years of combined Financial, Technology sector and HealthCare IT experience. My experience is very diverse and allows me to fit into many differing roles. As a result, I fill gaps between focused teams to provide solutions to problems from many different angles not available to teams focused on one topic. Some examples being, leveraging my development and release management backgrounds to automate something as simple as deploying a hardware driver to an entire facility; all at once. Software engineering and Scripting background to automate capturing asset information of desktop hardware within an entire healthcare network overnight. Then, utilizing my MS office experience to provide neatly formatted reports of the results in.xls or.mdb. I feel that I am at my best when working my hardest and I love what I do. This gives me the tenacity to not give up on a subject until I’ve mastered it. I am proficient in Ms Windows OS’s, Unix/Linux, and MacOS. Mobile OS’s as well. I am a habitual Automator of repetitive tasks/processes to streamline for time savings and increase productivity. Once I complete the automation, I share with all relative parties to allow this increased performance to help all of us. I believe in increased performance, not increased “Roy” performance. I believe in teamwork and professional courtesy. Any knowledge I can share, I will; just ask. I do believe I have found my calling, professionally, within healthcare and cannot fathom leaving this industry. I feel that although not a clinician, I do get to use my skill set to, though indirectly, help save lives. This brings me a sense of joy that no other industry, or check, can provide. It drives me to volunteer as much as I can for community events such as vaccination clinics or setting up remote testing sites during the pandemic. My hand gets raised when volunteers are needed at other sites to keep the network up and running and it has even driven me to earn my Basic Life Support certification! That’s right, this IT guy can reboot people too! I am working hard on my personal life as well and am just as happy in my own space as well. My Ying and Yang are both happy and balanced. I have a wonderful fiancé and should be married by the end of the year! She’s every bit as driven as me, and more so in some ways. She inspires me to better myself.
