Hi! I’m Roy, GP Senior Partner with Specialist Interest in Diabetes, Academic, Trainer, Presenter, and Research Lead.I’m a fitness fanatic and musician, who loves surfing, yoga, meditation and my VW campervan!I am a keynote speaker at medical education events. My main specialist topics are diabetes and general clinical medicine. I am an active clinical teacher and I have presented at a national level for Diabetes UK and Asthma UK and for industry.My research interests include diabetes, physical activity, sedentary behaviour and cardio-metabolic health.I am honoured to have been selected as a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion 20••••25.At the Diabetes UK conference 2024, I was invited to present a poster of my research project \"The association between sitting accumulation and markers of cardiometabolic health in individuals at high risk of Type 2 diabetes\". Among my previous publications is \"Applying for an Academic Clinical Fellowship - Academic Interviews,\" featured in the Medicine Publishing Journal- Senior GP Partner @ Albany House Surgery - 8 sessions per week- Trainer and mentor for GP’s / Advanced Practitioner’s / Foundation Year doctor’s / Pharmacist’s- Associate Clinical Teacher @ The University of Leicester / Leicester Diabetes Centre- Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners- Masters degree awarded with distinction in Diabetes @ The University of Leicester - Diabetes UK Clinical Champion 20••••25- Diploma in Child Health- Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology- Perform minor surgery and joint injections - Completed an Academic Clinical Fellowship in 2008
