Manage and direct a team of five plus external consultants on development and implementation of the organization’s policy, strategy and advocacy to advance work on the organization’s domestic legislative priorities: early childhood education, child nutrition, rural policy, and protecting children at the southern U.S. border • Director of major policy initiatives coordinated across the agency in order to implement campaigns on the local, state, federal, and presidential levels including doubling of investment in the Child Care and Development Block Grant and extension of child nutrition waivers • Develop and direct management of strategic relationships with the Administration, Congressional staff, and coalitions • Enacted and directed strategic initiatives with businesses, think-tanks, and community partners to protect the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit during tax reform • Lead policy development for annual lobby day, including identifying legislative “asks”, developing training and leave-behind materials, and following up with Congressional offices to ensure increased co-sponsorship of priority legislation • Utilize fifteen years of experience to advise on political campaign decisions for political advocacy arm of the organization • Promoted to Director of federal government relations, Senior Director of domestic policy and then Managing Director
