ABOUT ROXANNE M. TATA
Roxanne M. Tata serves as Vice President, Quality System & Regulatory Services at Vitalant (formerly, Blood Systems, Inc.) Ms. Tata has responsibility for Quality Systems and Regulatory Affairs, to include Records Management, Regulatory Affairs, Information Technology Quality Services, Document Control and Learning Design and Development Services. Ms. Tata serves as Privacy Officer. Previously Ms. Tata was the the Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for The Institute for Transfusion Medicine. At ITxM, Ms. Tata had overall responsibility for the administration of the Regulatory/Quality Programs and Clinical Education and Training functions of ITxM. Ms. Tata was the Executive Sponsor for the Lean Six Sigma Program. Prior to this position, Ms. Tata was Chief Operating Officer for LifeSource (Blood Center of ITxM). Before joining ITxM, Ms. Tata held positions with the American Red Cross and was a Quality Assurance Manager for Blood Systems, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona. She received her BS MT degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and studied for her Specialty in Blood Banking (SBB) at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. She is certified as a Quality Auditor by the American Society for Quality. Ms. Tata is an active member of the American Association of Blood Banks, for which she serves as an Assessor, as well as America’s Blood Centers (ABC), the American Society for Quality, the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the Illinois Association of Blood Banks. Ms. Tata currently serves on the Policy Council for ABC and had served on the board for Career Resource Center, Lake Forest, IL. She is past President for the Illinois Coalition of Blood Centers and is a Trustee on the Board of Directors for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Ms. Tata has authored numerous articles, abstracts and has given numerous presentations on blood banking, Quality initiatives, transfusion-related topics, Six Sigma and Management.Ms. Tata can be reached at R••••@vitalant.org
