Motion Picture Editors Guild / IATSE 700 - Assistant Editor At my core, I am a filmmaker dedicated to telling compelling and diverse stories that reflect the complexities of modern identity and culture. Growing up in the southern comfort of Cary, North Carolina, my passion for creativity and storytelling was nurtured from a young age. I pursued my love for filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I graduated with a BFA in Film Editing and Sound Design. My interest in filmmaking stems from a desire to contribute to the ever-evolving entertainment landscape. I am passionate about using the universal language of visual storytelling to reach audiences worldwide, fostering understanding, embracing empathy, and expanding cultural borders. As a queer first-generation Iranian American who grew up in the South, I am acutely aware of the underrepresentation and erasure of identities like mine in mainstream media. My career is centered around creating work that speaks to those who feel underrepresented in western media, aiming to build worlds where they can finally thrive and be heard. I am a proud member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (IATSE Local 700) and actively engage with my IATSE community. I have participated in nearly every editorial mentorship program Los Angeles has to offer, and value community over competition. IMDB:
