I have many years of litigation experience, and have handled numerous cases in state and federal courts. I was previously a partner at one of the largest defense firms in the nation, where I practiced for over a decade. In that capacity, I successfully defended myriad cases on behalf of defendants, including individuals, corporations and insurance companies. I have successfully litigated catastrophic injury and wrongful death lawsuits, insurance bad faith cases and environmental/toxic tort lawsuits, as well as commercial litigation such as unfair business practices, economic torts, fraud and breaches of contract. I strategically and successfully handled many insurance coverage disputes and insurance bad faith cases. I resigned from my position in 2014 to begin this practice representing plaintiffs and insureds in the same practice areas where I successfully litigated for years. I am privileged to have fought for, negotiated and obtained favorable settlements and litigation outcomes for my clients, including multi-million dollar settlements.I also serve as general counsel for some Bay Area corporations, including large and mid-size businesses and nonprofit organizations. In that capacity, I have guided them through a variety of issues that undoubtedly arise in most businesses, such as external negotiations, enforcement of contractual terms, and disputes that arise with other businesses.I previously practiced at two other law firms in California, as well as at a nonprofit legal aid organization where I proudly represented victims of domestic and sexual violence under the Violence Against Women Act. I also represented low-income California residents and fought to prevent unlawful evictions and foreclosures on their behalf. I am proud to have been a Special Olympics coach and special education arts teacher. I remain active in politics, particularly matters concerning civil rights, social justice, animal cruelty prevention and environment protection.
