I have had an enthralling career so far in software doing pretty much every role except programming. The two constant threads throughout it have been advising the customer and product knowledge. When I start at a new company, I learn the product from top to bottom to become the expert, the go-to guy. With that knowledge, I can then learn what the client needs and steer them on the right path. Whether it is securing software deals of CA$1m+ in a pre-sales demonstration role or keeping existing clients worth CA$20m+ of software revenue on board through a difficult version upgrade, my role is on the front line with the client- Twenty years\' experience in professional software in France, the US, the UK and Canada, specialised in nearly all aspects of software development, with an emphasis on superlative customer engagement skills- Multi-year management of relationships with Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson, 3M, Novartis, Raytheon and Intel- Excellent communication skills with the ability to put people at ease and forge relationships as well as being able to explain complicated software concepts in a simple manner- Innate ability to understand client needs and suggest solutions in the context of the software product- Proven ability as a presenter, be it in pre-sales demonstrations, conference presentations, training or leading large client meetings- Management experience of local teams, globally disparate teams and running an office- Comprehensive knowledge of the process of software development from a product management and development perspective as well as the client side- Total fluency in French and a professional level of German and Spanish
