About Rami Oweini
Dr. Oweini earned a BS in Chemistry with a Minor in Biology (2007) and an MS in Inorganic Chemistry (2009) from the American University of Beirut. In 2013, he received his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry, supported by a DAAD scholarship, from Jacobs University (Bremen, Germany). He was later awarded an ITM-CNR Fellowship to conduct his postdoctoral studies at the University of Padova, Italy. He then joined Beirut Arab University where he has been an Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry since 2014. His research interests are mainly focused on the synthesis and structural characterization of novel inorganic nano-materials and their use in water treatment, corrosion control, protein crystallization, biological and medicinal applications, as well as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis. From 2019 to 2023, he served as the Director of the Kamal A. Shair Central Research Science Laboratory (KAS CRSL) at AUB, facilitating cutting-edge research across the university. After his tenure, he expanded his academic pursuits as an Adjunct Professor at Citrus College and the University of La Verne in California, USA.
