About Rowdy Keelor
There is that magic moment in a classroom when I see the impact of our lesson, when students really *get* it and that is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I am a senior educator at New Roots Institute, a non-profit dedicated to educating people about the impacts of factory farming related to public health, social justice, and the environment. I proudly support New Roots Institute\'s educational outreach initiatives in the vibrant city of San Diego. My work encompasses delivering impactful classroom lessons that inspire and educate students, collaborating with local student organizations to foster leadership and engagement, coordinating dynamic regional events that amplify our mission, and spearheading various efforts to cultivate a culture of compassion and sustainability. Through these activities, I aim to empower the next generation of changemakers and strengthen our community\'s commitment to creating a more ethical and sustainable future. I have been teaching on this topic for nearly a decade. I am also the host of our comedy-info series, The Rotten Truth, which is the first show of its kind to focus exclusively on the impacts of industrialized animal agriculture. The Rotten Truth debuted in the summer of 2021. Last but certainly not least, I am the guardian/companion of two remarkable canines named Lionheart and Ned, and they (usually) make everything in life 100x better.
