My life mission is to leverage all the resources at my disposal, including my network and privilege, to have a positive impact on people, communities, our societies and our planet. Today, I lead Google’s philanthropic work across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, applying Google’s innovation, expertise and funding to promote progress and unlock opportunity for everyone across the region. I also lead our global work and team at Google.org focussed on building Stronger Communities, with the mission of enabling a safer digital world and strengthening communities in the face of threats and crises.Before Google.org, my mission at Google for Startups was to help a new generation of diverse entrepreneurs and social innovators succeed, applying lessons I learned co-founding ventures.Prior to that I spent nearly 5 years at Twitter, dedicated to leading Twitter\'s market development in a number of countries across EMEA. Joining in the wake of the Arab spring, I was driven by the mission of democratising access to communication and giving everyone a voice. My teams were first on the ground and focussed on driving user growth and adoption, working across media, politics, culture and influencers. I started out by following my passion for journalism and media, spending 8 years pioneering digital media and social innovation at the leading European publisher Axel Springer. I have 20+ years of experience in building and developing diverse and talented teams, and supporting people on their path to success.
