ABOUT ROUSHANI MANSOOR
Roushani Mansoor is a Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary for Management and Resources at the U.S. Department of State.Previously, she served as the Special Assistant in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, advising the Front Office on policy, programming, and public diplomacy related to human rights and democracy resilience. Prior, Roushani was a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls, and Human Rights Rina Amiri, supporting the Special Envoy on policy, outreach and engagement with Muslim-majority countries, and management of press engagements and social media. Roushani has also served as a Policy Officer in the Secretary’s Office for Global Women’s Issues and a Justice Advisor in the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Internationally, she worked as a Special Legal Assistant for the Ministry of Law in Dhaka, Bangladesh as a Fulbright Public Policy Fellow in the inaugural year of the program.Prior to becoming a Fulbright Fellow, Roushani worked at the Public International Law & Policy Group as a Senior Research Associate and as a Law Clerk at the Commercial Law Development Program at the Department of Commerce.Roushani holds a Juris Doctor cum laude from Washington College of Law at American University, a M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from the School of International Service at American University, and a B.A. in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.Roushani passed the July 2012 New York Bar Examination and was admitted to the New York Bar in December 2013. She waived in to the D.C Bar in January 2018.
