About Ross Garfield

I\'m a software engineer with experience in full-stack web development, creating apps with React.js front-end and Ruby on Rails back-end. Previously I studied Architecture at Tulane University, where I discovered design-thinking, developing spaces through exploration of their needs and functions. Beyond architecture, I learned how design-thinking can lead to solutions and efficiencies in any field. I then followed a passion for cooking into the hospitality industry, where I honed team-building and project management skills. In high stakes and high stress envirnonments, I relied on planning and communication to solve any problems that might arise throughout the course of a dinner service.Seeking a route for solving problems on a grander scale, I enrolled in the Flatiron School\'s software engineering bootcamp. In 15 weeks I learned two programming languages and frameworks, and designed projects alone and with teammates with the goals of efficiency and functionality at the forefront. I enjoy cooking, reading, boardgames and playing hoops.
