ABOUT ROSS WILSON
I have more than 12 years’ experience of working within the voluntary and community sector, including having worked at Community Foundation North East since 2018. I have substantial knowledge of the sector’s needs across a range of causes, I have cultivated strong relationships with local charities and social enterprises, and I am passionate about the role of these organisations in our wider society. I am skilled in working with donors, fund advisors, and community panels, able to challenge preconceptions and encourage them to think beyond their original priorities. I manage substantial investments (from which I make more than £1m in grants annually), lead on strategic objectives, and explore new markets for the Foundation’s grant-making. In 2025, I was appointed as a Trustee of The William Leech Charity and advised on a recruitment round at Leeds Community Foundation.
