ABOUT ROSS OWYOUNG

Ross Owyoung currently works in a private family office. Previously, he served as Associate Director of Communications and Development for Heartland Forward, a “think and do tank” focused on advancing economic growth and reshaping the narrative of the American heartland, Heartland Forward is an entity within Walton Enterprises. The organization originated from Heartland Summit, a convening of 350 top leaders and innovators across sectors and generations, held annually in Bentonville, Arkansas. Together, HF and HS provide data-driven research, community-tested solutions, and a forum for candid conversations aimed at sparking positive action in the heartland.Before joining Heartland Forward, Ross was the Development Officer at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA), where he played a vital role in the museum’s $170 million capital campaign and the acquisition of nearly 300+ Circle Society members. He cultivated key corporate partnerships, strengthened engagement with the board of trustees, and was instrumental in leading staff and volunteers during AMFA’s Grand Opening events, ensuring an exceptional experience for thousands of attendees.Earlier in his career, Ross served as Director of UA Little Rock Downtown, contributing significantly to the university’s outreach and engagement efforts.He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and a Master of Public Service from the Clinton School of Public Service. While at UA Little Rock, he was a member of the Chancellor’s Race and Ethnicity Advisory Committee.Ross has served on the boards of Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Ballet Arkansas, Create Little Rock, and 2nd Friday Art Night. He was also a member of Rotary Club 99, where he chaired the club’s programs, and he represented Ward 3 on the City of Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission.In 2023, Arkansas Business named Ross one of its “20 in Their Twenties” honorees.
