Experience

  1. Output and Impact Program Manager

    Mill

May 2024 — Present · Seattle, WA, US

As the Output and Impact Program Manager, I look for ways to enhance the value and environmental impact of our product (the Mill Food Recycler) and upcycling services. By rapidly dehydrating food scraps, the appliance transforms them into a shelf-stable product (which we call Food Grounds) that can be upcycled in various ways. Because the Mill Food Recycler shrinks food scraps and captures odors, it is more convenient to use than a trash can (or countertop pail). This makes recycling food scraps easier than landfilling them. When deployed at scale, Mill will boost both organics recycling participation rates and landfill diversion rates of the municipalities that it supports. My role encompasses two key areas:1. Upcycling Efforts: I oversee the exploration of upcycling pathways for Food Grounds and the development of partnerships to bring them to fruition. This includes both Mill’s Food Grounds-to-poultry feed operations and partner operations.2. Impact Assessment and Communication: I quantify our company\'s carbon avoidance, environmental co-benefits, and other impacts. My goal is to effectively communicate these impacts, demonstrating our contribution to a circular and carbon-neutral economy.
