ABOUT ROSNEL LEYVA-CORTES
I am an incoming Electrical Engineer on the Aircraft Avionics team at Shield AI, graduating from Columbia University in May 2026 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. My work is driven by a deep interest in circuit design, with analog systems holding a special place in my heart. I enjoy translating first-principles theory into robust, real-world hardware within environments where reliability, performance, and precision matter. At Columbia, I served as a PCB Designer and Vice President of Technical Operations for the Columbia Formula Racing team. In these roles, I led electrical system development, designed and reviewed multilayer PCBs, and coordinated technical execution across subteams to deliver high-performance, competition-ready hardware. This experience strengthened both my technical foundation and my ability to lead engineering efforts under tight timelines.I’m particularly interested in embedded systems, and high-reliability hardware design, and I’m excited to contribute to mission-driven systems that operate at the edge of performance.
