ABOUT ROSLYN FERNANDO

As someone who has always strived for excellence in my professional and personal life, I am eager to apply my evolving knowledge and background in research, data analysis and stakeholder engagement, to a greater and sustainable cause. I have developed a natural awareness, initiative and confidence for individual and group-based work that derives from my academic efforts towards my BSc in Geography, but, my diverse experience in customer service and consultancy. My time with Iris Galerie, Thorpe Park and Virgin Media Campus Industries developed my prowess for high quality results for various groups, allowing me to use my initiative and draw balanced conclusions. Synonymous with these services, my amicable and supportive nature boosts key performance indicators and rapports with stakeholders - beneficial for future endeavours and projects. On a personal basis, my artistic abilities and self-sufficiency through art commissioning, which I create and sell globally by using social media as a trading/communications platform, fuel my creative nature and keenness for learning. This creativity is exercised through my voluntary work at the Filipino-British Association in Plymouth where I would help decorate cultural events and supervise dance and sporting activities. My interest in music and fashion furthers this lens for self-expression and certain trends in popular media. I would like to transfer these skills, both academic and professional alike, and consolidate them towards sustainable urban projects which mainly focus on communities and infrastructure. My aim for cohesion, innovation, and inclusivity will remain foundational to my current and future career.
