ABOUT ROSIE MACADIE
I love problem solving, which is great because a key part of my job is finding solutions whether legal or otherwise. As an in-house lawyer I am all about getting embedded in the business as part of the team, not just being the lawyer on the side lines. It is about being a business partner, as well as a legal advisor. Currently I am Head of Legal at CAVU (which was founded by Manchester Airport Group) which is a tech enabled global distribution business. Prior to this, since 2015 I have part of the Group Legal function at Manchester Airport Group. In my role I work with the executive team across the CAVU business, which operates in the EMEA and the Americas regions. I support the delivery of an ambitious growth plan while helping to manage the risks that come with being a global tech business. My day-to-day focus is helping CAVU to build strong relationships with clients and customers underpinned by robust contractual terms. I have had a focus on technology, privacy and commercial contracts since I was a trainee at Pinsent Masons. As part of the legal team at Manchester Airport Group I have been working with the digitally focussed aspects of the business as it has evolved from MAG-O and MAG USA to CAVU. The greatest compliment I ever got at work was that I am solutions focussed, working as part of the team to ensure we can deliver our strategy (while obviously ensuring the legal boxes are ticked). Some of my career highlights whilst at MAG are- 4 acquisitions in the last 5 years, including acquiring a US online distributor of airport parking and hotels during COVID- Supporting on MAG bondholder waiver process during COVID and refinancing in 2022- Delivering key supply contracts, including the initial development of the car park booking platform that underpins the CAVU business- International airport concession projects in Japan and Bulgaria where I was part of a multi-functional team working with in-country advisors to deliver bids on time and ensure the business had a clear picture of the risks and challenges that would come from operating overseasWhat brings all of this together is my love of travel and exploring the world, which I have been lucky enough to do as part of my job.
