ABOUT ROSIE LEVINE

I am a professional in the China field with 10 years of experience in project management, mission-driven organizations, and foreign policy. I am currently the Executive Director of the US-China Education Trust, a DC-based non-profit focused on US-China student and scholar exchange. Before USCET, I was a Senior Program Analyst on the China Program at the United States Institute of Peace. I joined USIP as the Deputy Project Director for the Interorganizational Global Forum (IGF) an annual forum designed to bring together representatives from the U.S. Government, international organizations, nongovernmental organizations, academia, think tanks, and the private sector to focus on a complex global challenge of key importance to U.S. and global peace and security. Most recently I was a senior program officer responsible for the Public Intellectuals Program at the National Committee on U.S-China Relations, a New York City-based non-profit. In this role, I designed and implemented programs for a network of leading China scholars to improve American understanding of China. In 2020 I oversaw a year-long project to survey and report on the state of American research on China. The report focused on the state of research on China, emphasizing how the geopolitical tensions between the two countries had adverse effects on the research climate. The findings received mention in The Guardian, The Atlantic, and a dedicated episode of the Sinica podcast. I was based in Beijing China from 2014 to 2018. While in Beijing, I completed a master\'s degree in Chinese Studies at Yenching Academy at Peking University. I also served as the Program Director for the Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Center, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to preserving Beijing’s hutongs.
