ABOUT ROSHNI VACHHANI

Artificial intelligence is transforming how organisations operate, but its impact depends on responsible governance. I am fascinated by the intersection of AI, risk, and ethics, and I aspire to help ensure emerging technologies are designed and deployed with accountability, transparency, and inclusion at their core.As a Technology Risk Senior Consultant at EY, I help organisations assess technology and cyber risks, evaluate emerging technologies, and implement frameworks that enable innovation while maintaining trust. I translate complex technology challenges into actionable insights, helping businesses navigate regulatory considerations.In my spare time, I explore AI governance because I’m genuinely curious about how emerging technologies can be both innovative and responsible. I designed and risk assessed an AI chatbot concept focused on workplace accessibility, defined six principles for inclusive AI design, and conducted structured risk assessments across ethical, operational, and governance dimensions. I also curate a monthly AI update for internal audiences, covering developments in AI regulation, emerging risks, and governance best practices.My lived experience drives a strong commitment to human centred and inclusive technology, particularly for communities underrepresented in digital design. I champion diversity through EY’s Women in Tech Network and cofounded the Glasgow Code Club to support early engagement in STEM and technology for young people.I am particularly motivated to contribute in three areas: 1. Responsible AI Governance & Risk - Helping organisations assess, monitor, and manage AI risks while enabling responsible innovation. Inclusive & Diverse Technology - Embedding diverse perspectives in technology design and fostering equitable participation. Next Generation Technologist Development - Mentoring and creating pathways for future technology leaders.Previously, I served as President of the Women in Technology Society at Durham University, was a BCS Lovelace Award finalist, and presented research on a recommender system I developed for the hearing impaired at the IntelliSys Conference, Amsterdam. I hold ISC2 Cybersecurity Certification and ranked in the top 15% of TechWomen100 Awards 2025.I am actively seeking opportunities to contribute to AI governance, responsible AI programmes, and technology risk initiatives focused on emerging AI systems - combining professional expertise with my personal passion for ethical, inclusive, and human-centred technology.
