Leading the forefront of AI and Machine Learning in the manufacturing industry (Georgia- Pacific is one of the largest AI utilizers in the industrial segment) is one of the most amazing things I could have imagined for my career, yet also the natural culmination of a background in math, software development, and organizational transformation.I have worked in AI and advanced analytics since 2011 in roles as varied as Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, and Data Architect along my path to leading the digital transformation for Georgia-Pacific. Once I stepped into operations at CSX, the foundational pieces merged as I saw massive opportunities to deploy AI to prevent machine failures. At GP, I have evolved from using AI to improve finance, supply chain and manufacturing operations to sparking an enterprise-wide transformation.Over the last 6 years, my team—which started as a few folks and has grown to 130+, and I have built trust in the value of integrating AI into a legacy company, with demonstrated successes including: Generating a 5x ROI on investment in AI and transformation. Improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by up to double digits in certain business units. Digitizing 2T pieces of data using 16k machine learning models to retain knowledge in the face of industry-wide high turnover of skilled labor. Contributed to saving $200 million and thousands of hours of downtime by predicting machine failures. Supporting 800+ autonomous vehicles for materials handling Forging a partnership with AWS to create IP at the leading edge of Generative AI. Cross-training teams to build a pipeline of talent ready to move forward with AI, Computer Visioning and data science, garnering 95% employee retention in the process by providing challenges and growth opportunities.I am proud of developing several patents using Machine Learning to improve machine performance.
