As a face-to-face Fundraiser with SunSparks, I represented leading nonprofit organizations and worked directly in the community to inspire long-term charitable giving. My role involved canvassing in high-traffic public spaces, residential areas, and events across multiple cities, engaging donors in meaningful conversations about global and local humanitarian challenges.I communicated the mission and impact of organizations such as Save the Children, Heart & Stroke Foundation, CNIB, and other charity partners, adapting my approach to different audiences and building trust through empathy, transparency, and strong interpersonal skills. Through daily outreach, I helped individuals understand how monthly giving creates sustainable change, while ensuring each interaction felt personal, respectful, and mission-driven.This experience strengthened my confidence in public communication, objection handling, and donor stewardship. I learned to work under pressure, meet ambitious acquisition targets, and maintain a positive mindset in varied environments, from door-to-door campaigns and malls to community events and new regional markets. I also contributed to team motivation, mentoring newer fundraisers, and helping maintain high standards of ethics, accountability, and donor experience.Overall, face-to-face fundraising helped me develop a deep understanding of donor psychology, donor retention strategies, and the importance of creating genuine human connection—skills that continue to shape my work in fundraising and relationship-building today.
