About Rose T. Yin
Connecting communities by promoting health and well-being through technology lie at the core of my passion for biomedical engineering. The scientific problems that we now face are increasingly complex, and finding innovative solutions depends on creative collaboration. From the projects to which I have contributed, I have found that dynamic, diverse teams are cornerstone to pushing the bounds of discovery. In addition, my expertise in multiple languages enables me to more effectively both understand and convey ideas to enhance these collaborations. In order to find new biomedical solutions, I pursued research to broaden our understanding of human health in order to develop new therapeutic technologies. I chose Dr. Igor Efimov at The George Washington University for my PhD studies because of our aligned scientific philosophies: in order to develop translational methods, integrative research is required to truly understand health and disease in complex systems such as the human heart. My doctoral research projects focused on understanding why cardiac arrhythmias arise. In collaboration with the John Rogers lab at Northwestern University, I developed novel advanced electronic technologies to treat these abnormal heart rhythms.
