ABOUT PAM SIMPSON

Pam is a patient moving and handling consultant with a particular interest in conducting person-centred moving and handling assessments and the design and implementation of work specific strategies. Pam has more than 30 years’ experience of designing and delivering training courses to the public, private, voluntary and charitable sectors, including health, social care and education. The emphasis during the training of complex decision making is in an evidenced based, person-centred approach. Pam carries out manual handling risk assessments for complex situations and environments and is particularly experienced in managing areas involving many stakeholders including a range of care and therapy providers. Pam is an experienced author and editor of major publications about patient handling and is one of three editors of the latest gold standard publication “The Handling of People” 7th edition published in April 2023. Pam is also a chapter author in this publication and contributing author to the practical chapters.
