ABOUT ROSEMARY PHIRI
A first generation Malawian-American student, I strive to reach personal goals through the empowerment of myself whilst helping others. As a person of many passions, I find these goals are best attained through utilizing my interpersonal social skills, persistence, and drive for knowledge.In my spare time, I work as both an Activity Aide and Certified Nurse\'s Aide in nursing homes. I have built upon my social skills through engaging and helping with the rehabilitation of residents, whilst also catering to their needs.While pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, I have been blessed to serve in multiple leadership positions, that allowed me to cater to my community by teaching and leading. I am Vice President to the IU Bloomington Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Community Service Chair for Future Black Leaders Inc, a Groups 2022 Scholar, and a 21st Century Scholar. I am a former Neal Marshall Black Culture Center student staff member, former advertising chair to African Students’ Association, and the former Vice President of the Thomas L. Atkins Living Learning Community. While pursuing my degree, I am most driven by serving and understanding underrepresented communities through community service, social media engagement, and leadership.
