About Rose Cardarelli
Dr. Rose Cardarelli is a leader, educator, peace builder and U.S. Army Medical Service Corps veteran who has worked in complex circumstances nationally and internationally. Her background in international cooperation, combined with her firsthand experience in civil society development in a variety of crisis/post-crisis settings, has made her an influential advisor worldwide. Her experiences are deeply rooted in her background as a healthcare executive, military commander, government civil servant and professor of human security. Rose has influenced policies and solutions in education, health, peace building and conflict resolution, international development, civic engagement, and partnerships. She has served in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Pacific, Latin America, and Mexico. She currently serves as the Rotary International Representative and principal representative to UNICEF & UN North America, and she is the Founder & CEO of the Education for All Coalition. Rose has held key civil society roles with the Department of Global Communications, United Nations, UNHCR, UNESCO, and several education, research, and service organizations. She is Affiliate Faculty at the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter School for Peace & Conflict Resolution at George Mason University. Rose earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services at Fitchburg State University; a Master of Education at Boston University; a Masters in Healthcare Administration at Baylor University; and Doctor of Education in Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership at The College of William and Mary. She also earned certificates in Diplomacy in the Middle East and North Africa from Georgetown University and the University of Oxford’s Refugee Studies Centre on Force Migration. Rose is a board-certified healthcare administrator who has earned multiple military awards and honors; she received the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for humanitarian action and service, the President’s Medal from Fitchburg State University, and the Distinguished Achievement Award from Boston University’s Wheelock College. She is the recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit and holds the title of Dame, Order of the Holy Sepulchre and the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George. She is the author of numerous articles and conference presentations. Her highly regarded book, Children and the Climate Migration Crisis: A Casebook for Global Climate Action in Practice and Policy is published by Emerald Publishing Limited and is available at the United Nation’s Book Store and Amazon.
