About Rose Schiltz

Hello! I’m Rose, a software engineer and game developer focused on building responsive, systems-driven gameplay experiences. I graduated from NC State with a 4.0 GPA (Summa Cum Laude) in Computer Science, specializing in gameplay programming, game AI, and engine development. My favorite courses involved building a custom C++ game engine with multithreading, physics, and event systems, along with AI features like pathfinding, steering behaviors, and behavior trees. I have also had multiple internships during and since college in various fields such as geospatial analysis, information technology, and frontend development!Although I have dipped my toes into several waters over the years, my passion is for game development. During college, I started developing my first indie project, a full 2D fighting game called Project Berserk, where I made- Core combat systems and unique character mechanics - Menus, game flow, and multiplayer framework - Original art and assets (as a programmer with no prior artistic background I take pride in this!)- Marketing videos, promotional campaigns, and social networking strides in public and online spaces.To showcase my work, I have coined the publishing alias *The Raijin Driver* where I show people what\'s behind the scenes with indie game development!My current occupation is STEM teaching, where teach computer science, game design, 3D modeling, engineering, robotics, and so on! This has strengthened my ability to break down complex systems, think critically about how people interact with technology, and develop a nuanced understanding of teamwork and communication. I am currently looking into roles related to gameplay programming, game systems engineering, and game AI development!
