Support and lead state technical assistance engagements to improve substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, recovery, and harm reduction systems by- Conducting a system assessment, using tools such as Quorum and OpenMinds, on state-specific topics such as: Medicaid, laws and regulations, data on health disparities, federal grants, and opioid settlement funds- Identifying relevant stakeholders including government officials, treatment providers, professional associations, advocacy groups, and community-based organizations (including those that provide harm reduction and recovery support services)- Preparing for and facilitating meetings with approximately 50 stakeholders to identify issues patients and providers are facing and possible policy solutions- Facilitating the development of policy recommendations with team using information from subject matter experts as well as findings from stakeholder meetings and system assessment- Writing a memo for state officials with our policy recommendations, including evidence and example policies from other states. Support compliance and strategy by liaising with Pew’s Legal and Government Relations teams and utilizing Salesforce Lightning. Contribute to SUPTI-wide research and planning projects, for example- Expanded team knowledge on contingency management (CM) for SUD, particularly stimulant use disorder, by researching how various states are implementing CM programs- Co-led a working group on equity-focused projects for our team to pursue in the future- Developed a system to track states’ progress toward achieving the policy changes recommended by our team in 14 states. Participate in Pew’s Pride Employee Resource Group work, including event planning and being a co-lead of a working group focused on incorporating LGBTQIA+ equity into Pew’s programmatic work. Attend conferences, trainings, and other professional development activities including the Rx Summit and the APHA conferences.
