Advocacy and Advisory Services. Review and analyze the impact of existing and proposed regulations and policies on small business; formulate internal and public policy positions advancing the concerns of small business. Conduct legal research and prepare Congressional testimony, comment letters, memoranda, and other documentation to educate policymakers. Collaborate with federal regulators throughout the interagency rulemaking process to craft regulations that minimize the economic impact of regulations on small businesses while still meeting the agency\'s statutory objective. Provide strategic guidance to federal regulators to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory statutes. Portfolio includes competition policy and financial policy: Federal Trade Commission (FTC); Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC); Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB); Treasury (OCC, FinCen, IRS); and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).Leadership and Management. Lead a team of attorneys and economists that collaborate on international projects and oversee implementation. Present to high-level foreign dignitaries, U.S. officials, and industry trade groups on federal regulatory best practices for small business, impacts of regulations on international trade, and administrative law issues. International Trade. U.S. Delegate to the GRP & SME chapters of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the U.S-Taiwan Initiative on 21st-Century Trade. Support the U.S-U.K. SME Dialogue, a formal bilateral exchange under the Economic Prosperity Deal that brings together SMEs from both countries with government officials to expand transatlantic trade opportunities and address barriers to growth. Served on the U.S-E.U. Technology and Trade Council (TTC) Small and Medium-sized business (SME) working group, an initiative focusing on coordinating a transatlantic approach to key global trade, economic, and technology issues.
