ABOUT ROSA BAIER

I lead partnered pragmatic research to improve care and outcomes, with particular focus on older adults and those receiving post-acute and long-term care. From 2002 to 2014, I worked at a nonprofit quality improvement agency and as a contractor to the Rhode Island Department of Health, implementing Medicare initiatives and directing the state’s quality reporting program. In 2015, I was recruited to the Brown University School of Public Health to found a research program to build the evidence base for real-world interventions that improve care.I specialize in designing and conducting studies that reflect the conditions in which providers operate and people receive care. My work is grounded in strong partnerships with healthcare providers, entrepreneurs, and researchers, the ability to communicate with lay and scientific audience, and a deep understanding of how to make interventions feasible, acceptable, and scalable. Areas of expertise include partner engagement, pragmatic trials, qualitative methods, survey design, implementation evaluation, experiential learning, and scientific writing and editing.https://vivo.brown.edu/display/rbaier
