About Rory Slatko
Rory is a seasoned strategist and operator with over a decade of experience driving performance at the intersection of business and government. He specializes in navigating complex challenges to build and scale high-impact organizations. Currently, Rory serves as Senior Vice President for Operations at Artemis Real Estate Partners, a $12+ billion private equity real estate investment management platform based in Washington, DC. He rejoined Artemis in December 2024 to lead strategic M&A initiatives and operational transformation, culminating in Artemis’s acquisition by Barings in February 2025. Following the transaction, Rory has designed and spearheaded corporate integration efforts, aligning operations, processes, and strategy across the $60+ billion investment platform. Rory has served two Presidential Administrations as a political appointee. Most recently, he was Senior Advisor for Strategy, Operations, and Engagement to U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. In this role, he led strategic engagement with c-suite leaders across U.S. industry, managed external affairs for the implementation of the President’s Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence, and supported the $10 billion Tech Hubs program, mobilizing public-private partnerships to build regional innovation ecosystems under the CHIPS and Science Act. Earlier, as Deputy Director for Public Engagement, he drove stakeholder communications for major Administration initiatives.Previously, Rory held leadership roles at Artemis, where he designed and scaled emerging corporate programs in ESG, communications, technology modernization, cybersecurity, talent management and executive operations. He began his career as Chief of Staff to the CEO of Artemis and as an appointee in the Office of U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. Rory earned a BA in Political Science from American University.
