Broad experience base across a range of industries including- Formula 1 external aerodynamics. Applied CFD analysis to develop concepts and fine tune designs- Thermal analysis of industrial gas turbines. Used a combination of computationally expensive methods such as CFD in performance critical areas and more cost effective hand calculations in areas of lower complexity- Performance modelling of civil aero engines. Used one dimensional thermodynamic model coupled to a MATLAB FADEC model to simulate surge margin throughout transient manoeuvres - Thermal analysis of helicopter avionics bay. Developed an Excel based network model of components and ventilation flows to allow rapid, cost effective, development of concepts without the need for finite element analysis- Thermal analysis of civil gas turbines. Developed a thermal model of the HP compressor of a large commercial jet to predict temperatures throughout transient flight cycles- Independent technical audit.
