ABOUT RON WILCOXSON
I’m a Mental Health professional with over 15 years of experience in corporate, clinical, healthcare, and private practice settings and have provided both brief and long-term care. I have over ten years of crisis care experience in hospital emergency rooms caring for patients from all backgrounds and in all stages of life. I value diversity and inclusiveness and have worked with couples, racial and ethnic minority groups, people with disabilities, veterans, and LGBTQ individuals in therapist and case manager roles. Building rapport with patients, families, peers, and health care professionals is critical, a skill I feel I excel in. With background in management and training development I like multi-faceted positions that offer distinct challenges as they help me continue to learn and grow. Having a heartfelt purpose and making a difference is important to me. I enjoy working on teams and thrive in areas where I can collaborate. In addition to my roles in mental health, I’ve had the opportunity to be an entrepreneur and grow through international travel. I took a sabbatical in 2016 and lived in Costa Rica and Guatemala. That experience led me to found Village Faces, an educational gallery showing and pop-up store. I traveled to Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Mexico and purchased over 140 pieces of art directly from artisans in remote villages. My pop-up store at The Stanley Market was featured in Westword magazine as one of the season’s best gift-buying stores. Through the process I discovered that I have strong abilities in conceptualizing, organizing, and executing a successful project. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold Colorado License 1081.
