Wait, what? Leave Penn State? Can’t be true, Ron; you’re a lifelong Penn Stater. Say it ain’t so.”It’s true and hard to believe considering the awesome role at Penn State and my emotional and functional involvement with the university for decades of my life. But situations changed and opportunities emerged, leading me back to the private sector where I have the chance to make a world of difference for a century-old, gritty, customer-centric organization doing great things on a small scale but poised for scaling and growth…and I get an opportunity to help drive that quickly and consequentially.Taking-on this newly-created role of Chief Revenue Officer for Becker’s School Supplies helps me commingle sales and marketing with customer experience to fuel customer acquisition and retention with a company with a great technical foundation, a commitment to ops excellence, dedicated employees and Net Promoter Scores consistently at 70+ month-over-month. It’s now up to me to build on that foundation to unleash greater achievement for Becker’s customers and employees.It was said to me years ago (and I\'m paraphrasing): “Ron, you’re a business athlete. A player-coach. You make organizations and their people better.” With this role, I get to put that to the test.and I’m looking forward to it.
