ABOUT RONNI NEWTON

I am the managing editor of We-Ha.com, a hyperlocal online news site in West Hartford, CT. I produce and edit high quality and accurate content about area businesses (specializing in restaurants and retail), town government, schools, real estate, sports, charitable events, arts, and more. I am the editor of West Hartford LIFE, a monthly news magazine published by Turley Publishing that is distributed by mail to every household in West Hartford. I am responsible for assigning stories, writing, and editing features. I\'m also the owner of Ronni Newton Public & Media Relations, but what I do is much more than traditional PR. I work with businesses to create content – whether it\'s a press release that reads like an intriguing feature story, social media posts intended to engage a desired audience, or an updated bio for a website – for maximum visibility in today\'s evolving media environment. I have strong ties to the West Hartford community, forged during the years I worked as a local editor for West Hartford Patch. During that time I wrote thousands of stories, shot photos and video, posted to a variety of social media sites, and also managed a team of local editors for other Patch sites. While at Patch, I received two first-place awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. I have also worked as managing editor for lifestyle magazines, and freelanced as a writer and copyeditor. I even managed an oral history exhibition for the Noah Webster House/West Hartford Historical Society. I\'ve volunteered with many local non-profits and was PTO president when my children were in elementary school. My past professional experience as a consultant/client manager in the insurance industry gives me an exceptional ability to understand the distinct nature of any business, and to highlight that uniqueness in the work I produce.
