About Roni Fraser
Individualization | Achiever | Discipline | Focus | Responsibility Dr. Roni Fraser is passionate about serving communities to ensure their safety, even when disaster strikes. She holds a PhD and MA in Sociology from the University of Delaware and a BS in Emergency Administration and Planning from the University of North Texas. Currently, Dr. Fraser is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Management and Homeland Security at Arizona State University in the School of Public Affairs and an affiliate faculty member with the ASU Center for Emergency Management and Homeland Security. Her research interests are related to disaster volunteerism, disaster mental health and well-being, maternal and infant health in disasters, and radiological and nuclear emergency preparedness. Dr. Fraser is also an adjunct instructor with the Texas A&M University Extension Service (TEEX)- National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center, teaching AWR 330: Whole Community Inclusive Planning and MGT 312: Senior Officials Workshop for All Hazards Preparedness. Through her various experiences with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, TEEX, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Team Rubicon, and the University of Delaware Disaster Research Center, Dr. Fraser conducts meaningful and policy-relevant research related to public health and broader emergency management that contributes toward efforts to ensure communities are better prepared and able to respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters.
