About Roni Madilo
I am a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a B.S.P.H. in Community and Global Public Health with pre-med aspirations. My passion lies at the intersection of medicine, public health, and health equity—shaped by my interests in infectious disease, epidemiology, biomedical research, and medical anthropology.As a first-generation American with roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo, I’m driven to address the systemic barriers that lead to health disparities, both locally and globally. I’m especially interested in advancing equitable access to care and investing in sustainable health infrastructure in underserved communities.At UNC, I’m building a strong foundation across the STEM and public health disciplines, preparing to become a physician who not only treats patients but also leads public health initiatives that create long-term impact. I look forward to applying my skills in research, leadership, and community engagement to promote wellness and equity on a global scale.
