   I conceived of BookCrossing in March 2001, built the first version of the site in a month, and we launched in April.\\\\n\\\\nTo date, it\'s still the project that gives me the most satisfaction. I\'m turned on by serendipity and random acts of kindness, and BookCrossing fosters that in a unique way. The press really loved us back in the day, too.\\\\n\\\\nIn 2004, the word BookCrossing was added to the Oxford English Dictionary as \"the practice of leaving a book in a public place so that another person can find it, read it and then leave it where somebody else will find it.\"\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
