ABOUT RONALD GIBSON
I’m Ronald Gibson, Computer Science major at LSU specializing in Cyber Operations, with a passion for security research and capability development. My mission is to understand and build the next generation of tools, techniques, and systems that strengthen cybersecurity at both tactical and strategic levels.Currently, I serve as a researcher in the Applied Cybersecurity Lab at LSU, where I focus on building digital forensics capabilities to support investigative and mission-critical workflows. Outside the lab, I continue to deepen my expertise in security research disciplines—including reverse engineering, vulnerability research, exploit development, and malware analysis—through independent study, internships, and hands-on experimentation. I also actively explore offensive capability and CNO development, aligning my work with real-world mission needs. As the leader of the Security Society @ LSU, I help foster a collaborative, hands-on environment for students to grow in ethical hacking, red/blue teaming, and defensive strategy. With roots as a self-taught programmer and a mindset grounded in curiosity, I’ve spent years developing not only technical expertise, but also a strong commitment to mentorship and community. Whether it\'s guiding younger students through complex security topics or collaborating with experienced professionals, I believe in growing together—and giving back.My focus now is on deepening my technical impact while preparing for a career where I can support national security missions, innovate in security tooling, and be part of teams solving the hardest problems in cyberspace.
